Age question, How old is the wife?

A husband is 2 years older than his wife. Their child is one half the mother's age. the sum of all their ages is 97. How old is the wife?

Answer 1

w = wife's age

husband's age is w+2

child is w/2.

Add up their ages and set the total = 97.
