"raise c to the 5th power, then multiply 9 by the result"
These order problems can be tricky since what we are really doing is translating from english to mathematics. Luckily for us we can usually do these problems in the order that they are stated. Our first instruction is to raise the variable "c" to the fifth power. Sweet well that looks like this c5 .
Next, notice there is a comma these are classic signs of insert parenthesis. So then we would have (c5). Then we multiply 9 by the result which means take what we have and multiply by 9, so 9(c5).
Therefore the translation would be 9(c5). Hope that helps!
