Bill the baseball pitcher gives up a hit to 15% of batters. Joe the batter gets a hit against 30% of hitters. What are the odds Joe gets a hit against Bill?

Event A has a 15% chance of happening. Event B has a 30% chance of happening. In this case, If A happens, then B happens, if A doesn't happen B doesn't happen.

Should read "Joe the batter gets a hit against 30% of pitchers, sorry!

This is what I thought initially, however, shouldn't the percentage be somewhere in the middle of the two averages? I'm struggling to believe that the pitcher's advantage would be so high.
