Not sure what you mean by "the body" of a research paper.  Research papers are generally divided into several sections, such as Abstract, Introduction/Background, Materials and Methods, Results, Conclusions, References, etc.  They don't usually have something called "the body".  If what you have given in the question are options from which to choose, I would say "a broad overview of the topic" would be the best choice.
