Algebra age word problem .

If you decrease Marvin's age by 25%, you will find his age 4 years ago. How old is Marvin now ?

If 25% (one-fourth) of Marvin's age is 4, then 4 times 4 is Marvin's age.

a - 25%a = a - 4
a - 0.25a = a - 4
-0.25a = -4
a = 16
