3x^2+6x-9
Michael J. is correct. You can also do "factor by grouping."
3(-9) = -27
Factors of -27 that add to 6: 9(-3)
Replace 6x with 9x - 3x and factor by grouping:
3x2 + 9x - 3x -9
3x(x+3) -3 (x+3)
(3x-3)(x+3)
x = 1 or -3

3(x2 + 2x - 3) = 0
Factor completely.
3(x + 3)(x - 1) = 0
