Apparently you have a rectangular field of perimeter 238 feet.
The perimeter of a rectangle is P = 2(L+w).
2(L+w) = 238
L+w = 119 {equation 1}
length is 47ft longer than the width:
L = w + 47 {equation 2}
Substitute w+47 in place of L in equation 1 and solve for w
w + 47 + w = 119
2w + 47 = 119
2w = 72
w = 36 ft
L = w + 47 = 83 ft
The field is 83 by 36 feet
