If you're not sure of the formula you can look at the persons:
Call them A, B, C, D, E
Person A will play 5 other people
Person B will play 4 others (having already played A)
Person C will play 3 others (having already played A&B
Person D will play 2 others (having already played A,B,&C
Person E will play 1 other (having already played A,B,C,&D
Person F will play 0 others (having already played A,B,C,D,& E)
5+4+3+2+1+0 = 15 games
This kind of logic can be utilized on small totals like this.
