Greetings! Lets solve this shall we ?
So, we must find the length from the dimensions of this rectangle such that the length is l = 2x - 3 and the width is w = x with a 54 meter perimeter. Then,
2l + 2w = 54
2(2x-3) + 2(x) = 54
4x - 6 + 2x = 54
6x - 6 = 54
6x = 60
width = x = 10 meters
Then plug in the 10 into the length to obtain l = 2(10)-3 = 17 meters.
I hope this helped!
