A company has a manufacturing plant that is producing quality clocks. They find that in order to produce 110 clocks in a month, it will cost $2920. Also, to produce 370 clocks in a month, it will cost $6040. Find an equation in the form y=mx+b where x is the number of clocks produced in a month and y is the monthly cost to do so.

The slope M = (6040 - 2920)/(370 - 110) = 12

 

B  =  y - m*x

 

Using the point (110,2920), if x=110, y = 2920 and M=12

 

B = 2920 - 110*12 = 1600

 

y = 12X + 1600
