Yesterday, I bought two cups of espresso and one biscotti for $4.40. This morning, i bought one cup of espresso and two biscotti for $3.55. What does an espresso cost

Let e = cost of the espresso and b = cost  of the biscotti

 

Set up a series of 2 equations in 2 variables based on the information given:

 

2e +  b = 4.40

  e +2b = 3.55

 

And solve using either substitution or elimination
