Ordered pair/quadratic function

The given ordered pair belongs to a quadratic function whose graph is symmetric with respect to the line with the given equation. Name another ordered pair that the function must therefore include.

1. (4,3) x=0

 

One of the constants a, h, or k is undetermined. Find the value(s) of the constant such that the graph of the given equation contains the given point.

2. y=a(x-2)^2+3; (1,4)

 

I was starting review for this school year. I didn't understand the questions, and didn't understand what I was suppose to do. Please help.

x = 0 is the Y - axis.

If  (4,3) is on the quadratic, then ( - 4, 3 ) should also satisfy the equation.

Intuition

Since x is being squared, it does not matter if it is + or - , you get the same number

assuming everything is symmetric about the axis.
