Calculating functions

Consider the function: f(x)=x²+4x-1 and g(y)=2y and calculate the following:

f(0)

(g/f)(0)

Answer 1

f(0) = -1 because the x-related terms contribute nothing.

 

(g/f)(x) is, of course, [(2x) /(x²+4x-1) ] and when x=0, the value is zero because this NUMERATOR is 0.
