If f(x) = 2x2 + 3x and g(x) = x – 2, what is (f + g)(2)?

f(x) = 2x² + 3x

f(2) = 2·2² + 3·2 = 8 + 6 = 14

 

g(x) = x - 2

g(2) = 2 - 2 = 0

 

(f+g)(2) = f(2) + g(2) = 14 + 0 = 14

 

Not so hard after all, was it?
