Simplifying

P^2+2p-15/ P^2-p-35 How do you simplify?

If I am reading the problem correctly, the numerator of this rational expression factors to (p - 3)(p + 5). However, the denominator of p² - p - 35 cannot be factored.

Could there be a typo in the denominator?  If the denominator is

P2 - 2P - 35,

then the expression may be written and simplified as

(P - 3)(P + 5) / [(P - 7)(P + 5)] = (P - 3) / (P - 7)

By the way, Shelisia, please use parentheses when you upload a problem.
