Question

using grasshoppers, spiders, caerpillars, daisies, hawks, grasses, garter snakes and raccoons.

 

Which are produceers?   I have grasses, daises

 

Which are herbivores?  I have grasshoppers and caterpillars

 

Which are carnivores?  I have spiders, garter snakes and hawks

 

Which are ominivors?  I have raccoons

 

How would I make a food chain that describes the feeding relationship using thess four relationships.  Include descriptons of the organisms' energy sources and include a producer at the beginning of the food chain.

Hi L,

 

Grasses and daisies are producers producing feed for cattle, insects and birds respectively.

 

The only herbivore here is caterpillar, rest of the animals in wild are carnivores and omnivores (diet contains plants and animals both). Garter snakes, hawks and spiders are primarily carnivores. Raccoons and grasshoppers are omnivores.

 

At the bottom of the food chain would be daisies and grasses followed by arthropods(caterpillar, spiders, grasshopper)reptiles (garter snakes), birds (Hawk) and mammals (Raccoons). Hawk and Raccoons would be at the top but equivalent status.
