how do you solve for x: 3^x+2=7

My teacher wasnt specific on how to solve this. we are on logs if that helps

If you meant 3x+2 = 7, it works the same
 
3x+2 = 7
log3(3x+2) = log3(7)
x+2 = log3(7)
x = log3(7) - 2

I have one correction to make. I believe it is a typo. 
log3(3x) = x should be changed log3(3x) = x
