Kyndal, a marathon runner who weighs 162 pounds, will burn 350 in 45 minutes of running at a marathon pace. While preparing for an upcoming marathon that takes an average athlete 6 ½ hours to run, is calculating how many of the 5 rest stations he should stock with his supplemental beverage. The Beverage pack provides needed electrolytes and 350 calories. The goal is to replace approximately a third of the calories burned. How many stations should he stock? Show your work and explain your strategy.
