What are these letters doing in my equations? Here comes algebra!
X + y = -11
2x - y = 32
Eliminate y by adding the 2 equations together to get
3x = 21, then divide by 3 to get
X = 7
Plug x into either equation and you'll be able to figure out y. (Hint, it will be a negative number.)
