Jelly beans costing $22/kg are mixed with ju jubes costing $16/kg. If mixed they cost $18/kg for 50 kg. how many kgs of each candy were put into the mixture/

jelly bean= x kg

 

ju jubes = y kg

 

x+y =50  ---->x=50-y

 

22x + 16y =18(50)

22x+16y =900

 

 

22(50-y)+16y=900

1100-22y+16y=900

200=6y

y=33.3=33

 

x=50-33=17

 

 

 

jelly bean= x kg=17kg

ju jubes = y kg=33kg
