Hi Ashley, all that is necessary is to multiply the fraction by 1, or the value in the denominator in both the numerator and denominator.
20/√5 becomes (20/√5) * (√5/√5).
The numerator becomes: 20 * √5.
The denominator becomes: 5 (√5 * √5 = 5)
The new fraction becomes: 20√5/5, reduced to lowest terms, 4√5.
a/√b becomes (a/√b) * (√b/√b).
The numerator becomes: a * √b.
The denominator becomes; b (√b * √b = b)
The new fraction becomes: a√b / b
In example 3, there is no radical in the denominator and the expression you have is correct.
