Simplify or rewrite each expression with a smaller power of the variable inside the radical. Assume all variables are nonnegative.

1. √28a^3 b^12

2. ^3√18x^15 * ^3 √12x^8

1)

Rewrite the expression using exponents.

Note that     28 = (22)(7)

Therefore,

[(22)(7)(a2)(a)(b2)6]1/2

Using power raised to a power rule, we get

(22)1/2 * (7)1/2 * (a2)1/2 * a1/2 * [(b2)6]1/2 =

2ab6 * √(7a)
