A passenger plane left Rome and flew east. A jet left four hours later flying at 490 km/h in an effort to catch up to the passenger plane. After flying for three hours the jet finally caught up. What was the passenger plane's average speed?

The jet plane flew for 3 hours at a speed of 490 km /h. So it covered a distance of 490×3 = 1470 kms. The passenger plane covered the same distance in 7 hours. So it's average speed is 1470/7 = 210 km/h
