Hey Jiayan,
Let the first part be x.
Second part = 2x + 3
Now add both of these together and equate it to 72.
x + (2x + 3) = 72
3x + 3 = 72
3x = 69
x = 23
The first part is 23 and the second part is 49. Good luck with the rest of your problems.
