find f(x) and g(x) such that h(x)=(fog)(x)

Specifically h(x)=2/(x-6)^9

My teacher gives us these problems and gives four answers and we are supposed to check all that apply
I don't know how to know what applies

Andrew M.

What are the choices?

example:  Given 2 functions
f(x) = 2x + 3
g(x) = x- 1
find (fog)(x).... "f of g(x)"

(fog)(x) = f(x2-1) = 2(x2-1) + 3

            = 2x2 - 2 + 3 = 2x2 + 1

The choices are

A) f(x)=9/xand g(x)=(x-6)9

B) f(x)=2/x and g(x)=(x-6)9

C) f(x)=2/x9 and g(x)=x-6

D) f(x)=9/x and g(x)=x-6

The choices are

A) f(x)=9/x2 and g(x)=(x-6)9

B) f(x)=2/x and g(x)=(x-6)9

C) f(x)=2/x9 and g(x)=x-6

D) f(x)=9/x and g(x)=x-6

Is C the only one that works?

I see B as a possibility (if that 9 is an exponent).
