Algebra 2 Question Urgent

simplify (4/3xi+1)(3i+9)-(2xi+3)^3

Kenneth S.

In your first group of parentheses, I believe that you intend the denominator, under 4, to be 3xi+1, so that its own extra pair of parentheses are REQUIRED.

To simplify that, multiply by conjugate of the denominator--applied to both numerator 4 and the denominator; this will RATIONALIZE (make all Real) that former denominator.

To simplify the cubed expression, use the principle of cubing any binomial: (a+b)3 = a3 + 3a2b + 3ab2 + b3.
Also remember that i squared = -1 and i cubed = -i.
