Jim found out that after working for 9 months he had earned 6 days of vacation time. How many days per year does he earn at this rate?

Answer 1

The "rate" is 6 days per 9 months     [note:  this is also 9 months gets 6 days]

The number of days of vacation time = (Rate)*(time worked)

            vacation time   =    ( (6 days)/(9 months) ) * (1 year) * 1

           vacation time  =  ( ( 6 days)/(9 months) )*(1 year)*((12 months)/(1 year))

            vacation time = 8 days per year                [months cancels]
