e = 3b - 5

 

Eya's age is 3 times Bill's age minus 5 years

 

We also know that Eya is 28

 

e = 28

 

That means:

 

28 = 3b - 5

 

28 + 5 = 3b - 5 + 5

 

33 = 3b

 

33 / 3 = 3b / 3

 

11 = b
