So you want(4/3)(12) which is 4(4) = 16.

rule: dividing by a number is the same as multiplying by its reciprocal

12÷(3/4)=12*(4/3)=(12/1)*(4/3)=(12*4)/(1*3)=48/3=16

12÷(3/4)=12*(4/3)=(12/1)*(4/3)=(4/1)*(4/1)=(4*4)=16  (12/3=4; simplify before multiplying)
