Being told to use the quadratic formula is silly because this quadratic has no x term(degree one) and so it would normally be solved as follows:
6x2 = 57
x=±√(57/6) or ±√342 / 6 or ±∼38 / 2.
If you are a slave to dictated instructions, then you must first write this quadratic as
6x2 + 0x -57 = 0 and now you can use the quadratic equation with a=6, b=0, c=-57
and of course you will get the same result as above.
