2 l 3x-5 l = 8
l 3x-5 l = 4
3x-5 = 4 or 3x-5 = -4
3x = 9 or 3x = 1
x = 3 or x = 1/3
Since it is absolute value on the left side, we must solve for two cases
3x - 5 = 8
x = 13/3 = 4 1/3

3x - 5 = -8
3 x = -3
x = -1
===========================
Solution is 4 1/3 and -1
