Remember that the ratio of circumference to diameter of a circle is: C = pi times diameter, or pi times 2 times the radius. So, if radius is 93 million miles, the distance around the sun, the circumference, is calculated by multiplying pi (approximately 3.14) times 2 times the radius. Thus 3.14 X 2 X 93,000,000 = 584,040,000 miles.
