The line y=3x+8 has a slope of 3.
All lines that are perpendicular to it have a slope that is the negative reciprocal of 3 [that is, (-1/3)].
So, the formula for those lines looks like y=(-1/3)x + b and we need a point like (6,5) to find b.
5 = (-1/3)(6) + b
5 = -2 + b
7 = b
The equation of this perpendicular line is: y=(-1/3)x + 7
