 Before I got t=5 and my tutor said it was wrong and now he is on a vacation please help me.

First move all t-terms to the left side of equation.  All constant terms to the right side of equation.

 

9t + 9t = -54 + 36

 

 

Combine like terms on each side.

 

18t = -18

9t - 36 = -9t - 54     Add 9t to both sides to isolate t

 

18t - 36 = -54         add 36 to both sides

 

18t = -18               divide both sides by 18

 

t = -1

 

9(-1) - 36 = -9(-1) - 54

 

-9 - 36 = 9 - 54

 

-45 = -45     check
