Question

Raul has 56 balls. He puts three times as many balls in red gift bags as the does into green gift bags. If he puts the same number of balls into each bag, how many balls does he put into green gift bags?

Answer 1

three times the number in green = number in red

 

3g = r

 

3g + g = 56 

4g = 56

/4     /4

 

g=14

 

There are 14 balls in the green bags and 42 balls in the red bags.
