Determine the domain of the function represented by the given equation. (Enter your answer using interval notation.) f(x) = 3 x - 2

This is an equation on my college algebra homework.  I realize that the answer is it can not be 2 but I do not know how to put in into the correct notation.

sorry.  it is 3 over x-2.  Would it sitll be the same answer in this case

No, sir the domain is all reals EXCEPT 2, which is ruled out of the domain. (There's a Vertical Asymptote there.)
 
I assume you can now write the domain in interval notation, splitting it into two parts, from left to right, joined by the Union symbol.
