Lets start with:
Length of field = X
Width of field = Y
First equation: X = 2*Y (twice as long as it is wide)
Second equation: 2*X + 2*Y = 108 (Equation of Perimeter of a rectangle is twice the length plus twice the width)
Substitute the first equation into the second
2*(2*Y) + 2*Y = 108
4*Y + 2*Y = 108
6*Y = 108
Y = 108/6 = 18 meters
Width of field is 18 meters
Length: X = 2*Y = 2*18 = 36 meters
Length of field is 36 meters
