"of" often means multiplication. . . 1/2 of 10 is 5 because (1/2) x 10 = 5.
So 1/3 of 63 is (1/3) x 63 which equals 63/3 = 21. So 63 - 21 = 42 runners continued the race.
Now we need to take 2/7 of 42. I'll let you figure that out.
The product is the number of people who dropped out in the second half of the race.
So how will you figure how many runners finished the race?
