2x-3y=3

(i)  x+4y=7
(ii) 2x-3y=3

 

From (i) get x = 7-4y and substitute into (ii) to get y:

 

2(7-4y)-3y=3

14-8y-3y=3

-11y = -11

y=1

 

Now substitute y=1 back into (i) and get x:

 

x+4(1)=7

x=3
