Find the equation of the line with x-intercept -2 and y-intercept -5.
A very useful form of equation of a straight line is x/a + y/b = 1...this is the "intercepts" form;
a is the x intercept, b is the y intercept. You can verify this for yourself by setting
x = 0 to find y-intercept, and y = 0 to find x-intercept.
So all you have to do is to write x/-2 + y/-5 = 1. Then you can use your algebra skills to put this into Standard form (multiply all terms by -10).
