Let x + 5 = amount of combined mixture

      

     1.40x + 5.80(5) = 3.30(x + 5)

 

     1.40x + 29 = 3.30x + 16.5

29.00 = 1.90x + 16.50

 

Subtract 16.50 from both sides:

 

29.00 - 16.50 = 1.90x 

 

12.50 = 1.90x

 

Divide both sides by 1.90:
