Question

when three resistors are connected in series their resistors are added to produce a total resistance of 970.  One of them has a resistance of 530 and the others have resistance levels equal to each other  find the resistance levels of the other two resistors

Answer 1

R1 + R2 + R3 = 970 ohms (I am assuming the 970 is ohms)

 

R1 = 530 ohms

 

R2 = R3 = R = ?

 

 

R2 + R3 = 970 - R1

2R = 970 - R1 = 970 - 530 = 440

2R = 440

R = 440/2 = 220 ohms

 

R2 = R3 = 220 ohms
