4 cos^2 theta = 1 for 0 (degrees) less than or equal to theta less than or equal to 360 (degrees).

4•cos²x = 1

 

    cos²x⁼ 1/4         divide by 4

 

    cos x = √(1/4)   square root 

 

    cos x = 1/2 

 

 

    x = 60 degrees and x = 300 degrees 

 

    Note:  cosine is positive in Quadrants 1 and 4, so we need 60 degree reference angles in those 2 quadrants.
