Direct Variation means: As "x" increases, "y" also increases.
or if x is decreasing, then: As "x" decreases, "y" also decreases.
Inverse Variation means: As "x" increases, "y" decreases.
or if x is decreasing, then: As "x" decreases, then "y" increases.
In other words - if the x-values are going up, the y-values should also go up for DIRECT variation.
If the x-values go a different direction that the y-values, then it is INVERSE variation.
For your problem, x increases from 1.5 to 2 to 12
While at the same time, y decreases from 4 to 3 to 0.5.
This is an inverse variation.
