If f(x)=8x^3-2x-6, approximate the derivative at x=2 using a forward difference approximation of (f(x+0.01)-f(x))/0.01

Basically you plug in 2 for x in the formula. In other words, find

(f(2.01)-f(2))/.01

 

So plug 2.01 into f(x), then plug 2 into f(x), then subtract and divide by 0.01. Your answer should be close to 94.
