Higher order polynomials, i have to show my work.

Please explain

 

P(x) = 8x^3 - 1?

P(x) = 8x³ - 1 is factorable ['difference of cubes'] so it can be written as P(x) = (2x - 1)(4x² +2x +1).

 

You didn't actually ask any question.  If they want the roots of P(x) = 0, the only Real root is x  =  ½, because the quadratic factor is prime (its discriminant is negative).  This x value is the only x-intercept, i.e. only zero of P(x).
