water flows from bottom of a storage tank at a rate of r(t)=200-4t liters per minute,where t is (greater than and equal to 0 and less than and equal to 50) find the amount of water that flows from the tank during the first 10 minutes.

OK. If the limits you place on t are also in minutes, then the inequality doesn't enter into the problem.

 

v(t) = volume of water

= ∫ (from t₁ to t₂) r(t) dt

= ∫ (from 0 to 10) 200 - 4t dt

= 200t - 2t² (from t=0 to t=10)

= 1800 liters
