The slope-intercept form of the equation of a line looks like this: y = mx + b
where m is the slope
and b is the y-intercept (the place where x=0), so it is the point (0,b)
The line with slope of 0 (m=0) has the equation:
y = 0x + b or just y=b
The line passes through point (-4,5) and the equation of the line is true for all of the points on it, so:
y = 0x + b
y = b
5 = b [substitute values of (-4,5) for x and y]
Now that you know the value of b, you may write the equation like this:
y = 5
