length = 2 more than 3 times the width, with units of meters
L = 2+ 3W
perimeter = 2L + 2W = 4+6W + 2W = 8W +4 meters
area = LW= 2W +3W^2 square meters
usually these problems will give some additional information, such as the perimeter or the area then you could solve for L, W and A or P
Let's say the perimeter was 36 meters, then 8W+4 = 36
8W = 36-4 =32
W =32/8 = 4 meters
L=2+3W = 2 + 3(4)= 2 +12 = 14 meters
and Area =A = LW = 14 x 4 = 56 square meters
