the wave of a tsunami above the sea floor can be modeled by H(t)= -27.3sin((PI/6)t) +12 feet where t is time in minutes since the tsunami struck. Find and interpret H'(6)

From what we know about derivatives (rate of change), H'(6) tells us at what rate the height of a tsunami wave is changing (in ft/min) 6 minutes from the beginning of the tsunami.

 

H'(t) = -27.3(pi/6)cos[(pi/6)t] and you get to plug in t = 6 to find the decimal value.
